Tithing/offering

     Restoration Christian Church believes in the biblical principle of tithing and offering as a New Covenant standard as well as Old Covenant. 1 Timothy 5:17-18 very specifically speak of honoring those in eldership financially…"thou shalt not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the grain," and "the laborer deserves his wages" (RSV). Additionally, Paul reprimanded the Corinthian church for their eagerness to financially support other ministries but not the very one who had planted and nurtured them into their new life in Christ. 1 Corinthians 9:1-13 and concluded his comments thusly…,"if we have sown spiritual good among you, is it too much if we reap your material benefits? If others share this rightful claim upon you, do not we even more?"

     We also believe "Christ has redeemed us from the curse, having become a curse for us" and the curse of the Old Covenant as expressed in many places is not reason for giving tithes/offerings. We believe the blessing of God in creation, expressed to Abraham and pronounced throughout the New Covenant is our heritage. We are blessed of God, and out of this great and abundant blessing we desire to give at least 10% (although the Old Covenant decreed 3 tithes, thus 30% plus offerings) and thereby flow in the greatness of our Abba Father, Who so loved the world He gave.
